The Casio VX-100 EPOS System is a compact terminal equipped with a colour main display with full-touch screen operation, a sub-display that is great for showing information to customers, and a built-in thermal printer to generate receipts. Casio EPOS Systems are designed for use in large, medium sizes and small retail stores, and works as both a standalone system or as part of a networked system.
The VX-100 by Casio comes installed with a sales management application offering a host of data management capabilities. With the optional cash drawer, the terminal can also function as a cash register.
Additional customer relationship management and reservation management applications can be installed to enable database management of the purchase history of individual customers. The purchase history can then be used to identify preferred customers and formulate marketing strategies tailored to them.

The Casio VX-100 runs the Android™ platform on a smartly engineered, all-in-one hardware platform, designed for a wide selection of retail settings. This product release is an industry-first, revolutionizing the retailer, and making the EPOS a more versatile and sophisticated sales and business management tool. The VX-100 is designed for use in a wide selection of retail environments including independent retail stores, multi-nationals, restaurants, educational establishments and offices, and works as both a standalone system or as part of a networked system. No interface cables are required and the VX-100 EPOS system is simply unpacked, powered-up and ready to use.
The new VX-100 platform features a large 10.4 inch SVGA (800 x 600 dots) colour touch-screen LCD. This screen is splash proof making it ideal for restaurants and locations where liquids may be spilt.
The tilting LCD display has an electronic adjustment, allowing the perfect position to be set by the operator.
An integrated pop-up monochrome LCD show clear customer information and can be used for advertising messages, the running receipt total and payment confirmation. The LCD has a resolution of 32 x 160 dots (20 letters x 2 lines can be displayed).
A built-in 80mm thermal paper receipt printer, with easy to use drop-in paper loading. Fully integrated into the EPOS terminal, with no connection or power cables required. An optional magnetic stripe card reader or interfaced chip & PIN terminal is available.
Optional cash drawer and a wide selection of interfaces (USB, LAN, and RS232C) to allow third-party peripherals to be added.
With the Android OS, there are no costly licensing fees and all development tools are free of charge. For the retailer, the Casio VX-100 solution provides a faster and more stable platform, as all applications have access to the same APIs. The addition of new EPOS applications and relationship management with other external databases is much easier to set-up.
The VX-100 hardware platform consumes considerably less power than a conventional PC based EPOS system, requiring only 20 watts on full power and 4.1 watts in stand-by mode. This is a saving of over 85% when compared to most PC based EPOS systems. With electricity costs rising faster than ever before, this is a significant cost saving to both the independent store owner, and national operator with a large EPOS estate.
